Luton Synagogue has a small, friendly and active Cheder catering for the needs of Jewish children from the ages of 3 to 13 years. The Rabbi has overall responsibility, but is ably supported by local teachers and parent helpers, all committed to providing a first class opportunity for a well rounded Jewish Education. Parents that send their children comment on the welcoming atmosphere and the attention to making even the most shy of children feel part of the classes and activities.

Our aim at Luton is to provide an environment and opportunity for all Jewish children to receive an education in all matters concerning the Jewish Religion and Jewish Way of Life, so that they may all be capable of entering and passing the Barmitzvah and Bat Chayil exams as set by the Agency for Jewish Education. We are pleased, and very proud to report that all of our Cheder children have passed the relevant exam and many have excelled and achieved distinctions.

Cheder is held every Sunday morning from 9.30 to 12.30 during term time.

There is no charge for members of the synagogue and non-members are welcome to enrol their children; the cost is £55.00 per child per term.

A group of mums and their tots (daddies to) meet for a coffee, natter and play every week.
