Here are all the financial facts about joining the Synagogue and useful information for current members:-

The role of the Treasurer is:-

  2. To make annual financial projections, present them to the AGM and recommend fee levels
  3. To maintain the database and other records related to the accounts of the community
  4. To liaise with members on any financial matters
  5. To serve as one of the Almoners
  6. To dispatch quarterly accounts statements to members and collect monies
  7. To pay promptly all monies owed by the congregation, whilst assuring that all bank accounts are always in surplus
  8. Liaise with outside bodies on financial matters

Currently, half yearly synagogue fees are:-

Rules of the synagogue do not allow membership of the burial society alone.  Membership of the synagogue without membership of the burial fund is allowed on condition that the cost of family member burials is covered, for example, by burial society membership of another synagogue or purchase of an assurance policy for funerals.

If members cannot afford the above membership rates, then discounts can be arranged.  A committee of three Almoners considers applications for discounts based on information provided on an application form.

The synagogue claims Gift Aid on donations for membership fees and other donations to the synagogue, but not on Burial fee donations.  If you would like to have Gift Aid recovered on your donations to the synagogue, then please download the Gift Aid form, complete the details and post back to me at P O Box 215, Luton LU1 9ZJ.
