For the Ladies

There are now two groups for the ladies of our Community:-

Ladies Guild - In-keeping with many synagogues we have an active Ladies Guild, who are not only members of the Synagogue Management committee, but who are a central focal point for all aspects of community life. We provide support to the Synagogue Management, organise Kiddishum for Shabbat, festivals, Bat Chayils, Bar Mitzvahs, Auf Rufs or simply to those wishing to celebrate any simcha. But we are not the unpaid help!

Our role is to keep alive our Jewish traditions and to support and help organise community activities. We work closely with the Rabbi and his wife in assisting those less fortunate than ourselves whether it be with Pesach food parcels or home visits. We consider it an important aspect of our communal duty to fulfil a significant mitzvah in providing a basis for a caring and socially responsible, Luton Jewish Community.

Ladies Learning Group A new Learning Group for Ladies has been launched which will offer interesting, informative and thought provoking topics with a light hearted edge and, of course, delicious refreshments! For more details email here.

For the Gentlemen

Rabbi Shiurs – Every month, the Rabbi holds Shiurs for men and women on the ideas about Judaism and includes discussion about modern day moral issues. These provide an opportunity to ask the rabbi about issues of particular interest for you. Email the Rabbi.

Young Entertainment

Zest, established in 2005, aims to bring together singles, young marrieds and couples from Herts, Beds, Bucks and the surrounding areas, in a friendly, welcoming environment. If you have any ideas for future events or would like any information on upcoming events, please email: here, here or call 08701 164028.

Older Entertainment

Friendship Club meets once a month on a Monday afternoon, for social discussions for the over 50s. Women tend to come to the meeting, but everyone is invited and we meet up in member’s homes and we have various events outside our frequent meetings. There are occasional religious debates and quizzes for lighter entertainment. Please email Myera.

For Children at Heart

Food4Thought – is the organisation that operates Shabbat Lunches occasionally, so that any monies raised for the event is towards our children’s future.
